There is an infinitely beautiful world out there that is just waiting to be explored. Get hold of that friend you’ve spent countless late nights daydreaming with about all the wonderful escapades you’d embark on together. That special someone whose sheer presence will multiply the jubilation that comes with experiencing the natural majesty of the great outdoors.

Or maybe you’d rather ride solo, and venture into the unknown alone. There is something so exhilarating about travelling by yourself that sets your mind free and allows your heart to open deeply. You will find yourself enamoured with the adventure and splendour that planet Earth has placed before you. You will become brave enough to try new things and in the process evolve who you are as a person and your way of thinking.

Get lost in that old European city, while admiring its timeless architecture and medieval remnants. Share the same space as the wildest animals on an African safari. While in their domain you will learn to be deliberate and respectful. Become one with the nature in the great rainforest of South America and experience the richest habitat on earth. Immerse yourself in the rich cultures of Asia and appreciate that you are simply a small cog in the grander scheme of things. Journey down under and get your thrills snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef and ride some of the best waves on the planet. Visit North America and take in some of the most awe-inspiring and breath-taking scenery known to man. Voyage to Antarctica, and see it before it’s gone. (Okay that’s slightly over the top and we promise that we aren’t on the payroll to promote Antarctica but there is a real threat that global warming poses to this picturesque continent. It is warming at a much faster rate than most other places on earth and this spells danger for species like penguins that can only acclimatise to a highly limited range of very specific conditions. All this talk of penguins reminds us of “Happy Feet” *sigh*)

Travel is an exceptional teacher! It will often shift the preconceived notions you hold about the places you visit, while helping you carry back a new found feeling of innovation to your everyday personal and professional life – being constantly laid bare to people and cultures that are vastly different from your own will do this to you. It is a great equaliser. You will learn that the same emotional, physical, financial and spiritual struggles that you face in your life are similarly shared by someone on the opposite end of the globe. By hearing, comprehending and connecting with the sentiments, ideas and narratives of others you will naturally become more empathetic and humbled.

So pack your Pandas and go explore the big ol’ world. Behold it in all its glory. To travel, is to live. Dare to live the life you’ve always wanted, and be absolutely fearless in the pursuit of that, which sets your soul on fire!

We’ll leave you with some inspiration from an anonymous source:

“I urge you to travel. As far and as much as possible. Work ridiculous shifts to save your money, go without the latest iPhone. Throw yourself out of your comfort zone. Find out how other people live and realise that the world is a much bigger place than the town you live in. And when you come home, home may still be the same. And yes, you may go back to the same old job, but something in your mind will have shifted. And trust me, that changes everything.”
